Respawner Online on Friday’s with MVP

Respawner Online on Friday’s with MVP

In the immortal words of the band Europe, “Baby, now the time has come!” Feast your eyes on this playlist which will play in succession, the Respawner pilot episode, a message from the director, a special deleted scene and lastly, the pilot in the Grind house treatment. It’s a mini dvd experience online for all our lovely mutants. Like the videos, comment on them and above all please share them on your Facebook wall. Personally speaking it really is a thrill to finally share this film. It was the source of some heartache, but mostly of loads of fun! While it never took off as a series I could get the MVP machine behind, I think it stands as a cool example of what can be done with very little in the way of resources when you find passionate people willing to put their hearts into the work of making a piece of art. To my cast, Alan, Dave, Donnie, Corinne, Jason, Michael, Matthew, Steven, Kathy, Sylvia, Danny, Brandon, Luis thanks so much for everything you gave. To the many folks behind the scenes who helped out in one way or another, Brian, Eddie, Jeremy, Todd, Jamie, Geo, Robert, Meg, Nancee, Liam, Rosie, Patrick and anyone I may have failed to name, ya’ll are the bee’s knees. Thanks so much! Lastly dear friends, my thanks for watching. Pick up Tales from Mutantville today. If you’re feeling saucy you can also grab your own copy of...

Check out this never before made public clip that was designed to serve as a flash back in Respawner. It involves the father of the main character who had previously mastered the Respawner power. The intent was to have enough to look like there was a story there, though only a flash of it is shown in the actual pilot. He is the entire skit which was made up on the spot to feature the transformation senario. Thanks again to Matthew Ewald for appearing as Liam Bowman, father of the Respawner. Check it out after leap. Only 4 more days to go until the online release of Respawner, right here on Mutantville.com. I’m in the mood for a giveaway. How shall we do this. Hmmm, how about this? Anyone who shares this event on their Facebook wall will be entered into a drawing whereby I will randomly choose one recipient for a Respawner prize package to include at least a special edition custom Dvdr and along with a mystery prize. It may be a T-shirt or some other Mutantville related goods but rest assure it will be excellent. Lastly be sure to check out episode 26 of Brento’s Budget Film Making...

Yet Even More Respawner Extras

I’d like to briefly revisit what was a very fun project for MVP and my first official turn beneath the director’s cap.  Prior to the actual filming we got many of the cast members together for a little test run of sorts to create a teaser intended to advertise where season 1 would take us. If that sounds like getting the cart before the horse, that’s because clearly we did just that. In any case it makes for some interesting footage in review. Although ultimately aborted as a continuing web series, the pilot encapsulates what was a tremendously ambitious story. Since the early days of Respawner, I’ve been interested in all facets of expression of this story and chances are there is something more to be heard of this character’s story. In addition to playing both a metal head and a test subject in a deleted scene from Respawner, Donnie Christianson also pull together a soundtrack for this previously unpublished series teaser. There’s a lot of the films big moments in this but also a lot of action that doesn’t appear in the pilot. You saw it here first. I should also mention that this was an uncompleted teaser. In some cases we used footage from the lighting tests with non final costuming and makeup to fill out the teaser a...
