Muticia Returns to Johnny Brento’s JuJu

Muticia Returns to Johnny Brento’s JuJu

Aug 27, 2013

Hello from your long lost Johnny Brento. Yes, Mutants, I know it has been a while. Yours truly has been on hiatus from regularly updating the site in favor of actually doing things. One of those things is putting together a new intro for the future episodes of Muticia’s Movie Morgue. Just this past weekend, we began shooting that footage. I have to say, it was nice to be back on the set, This time I got to direct a bit and things went really smoothly. To be fair it was a short shoot with not many shots required to accomplish our goals for that shoot. Perhaps that is the key to having more fun and less drama, not being so ambitious shot wise. We had friends old and new along with us and that really made things wonderful. I always like sharing the process with folks who haven’t seen it before. So, in a nutshell, the new intro involves Muticia in a variety of fake genre movies, on an old style TV. In order to make this feel convincing, each of the so called “Fake” films needs one or two shots that are fully realized. That, my mutant friends is where you come in. We’ll soon be broadcasting the call for Zombies once more. If you’re lucky enough to make the cut, your face could be on the intro for every single episode of Muticia’s Movie Morgue going forward. Talk about a legacy. This weekend Muticia takes on the guise of a sorceress battling a wizard, played by Tommy Allen Taylor…of the Taylor’s folk. Ha! Ha! You can check out this exclusive update from Muticia herself below. As usual, Streebo always has the behind the scenes access for you mutants. Check it out below We also got some fantastic photos of the sorceress makeup, Crazy Todd created. In fact, I’ve created a wall paper featuring Muticia as the Sorceress character. You can check that out in two flavors below. Comic Style Photo Real Don’t forget to Like Muticia’s Fan page to stay tuned in on the progress towards Episode #2. Muticia also has her own dedicated YouTube Channel. If you look at the...

G.H.O.S.T. is Ready for Release on Johnny Brento’s JuJu

G.H.O.S.T. is Ready for Release on Johnny Brento’s JuJu

Sep 19, 2012

There are just so many ways we can say that a project is close to being completed. At last I can officially say that G.H.O.S.T. is finally completed! Yeah, I know it took a little while longer than originally expected but contrary to popular belief, we all have day jobs! The DVD is a complete work with some extras that expand the back story for those who care about such things an included an interview with that guy, Matthew Ewald whom some of you may know from various other film projects. Also included is a “Best of Mutant TV” featurette that the budding film makers among you might really appreciate. For those of you lucky enough to get your hands on an advanced Festival edition note that this is an updated version of the film. At long last those of you have been waiting patiently can get your hands on one of these sweet babies. I imagine an order form will be showing up here on Mutantville.com any day now. Also at the finish line is Tales from Mutantville. The DVD build lacks a single small edit to add credits for everyone’s favorite horror hostess, Muticia, The Movie goddess and a few of the cast not specific to any of the individual films and those are ready to be manufactured as well. I’m hopeful that these can be ready to go this week. I worked with Streebo on Episode #1 of Muticia’s Movie Morgue, featuring George A. Romero’s Night of The Living Dead for most of the day Sunday, before breaking for an epic Absolute Zero practice. The sound design is essentially completed and a few TV bumpers are all that remain to be completed. We are on track for a Halloween cast and crew screening the week of Halloween and a world wide release on via Youtube on October 31, 2012! Yeah, Buddy! Work for Take That has reached a fever pitch and the shoot is quickly approaching. Most of the prep is ready but there are always last minute things to tackle and I’m sure this project will be no different. Lastly, I’ll mention that MVP stalwarts met with Brad Horde from...

Muticia’s Movie Morgue Nears Completion On Johnny Brento’s JuJu

Hello Mutants, Another Wednesday is here and thusly, I bring you another Johnny Brento’s JuJu in it’s turn. There was a mobile vlog for the events of the previous week, but honestly it wasn’t all that interesting. I shall summarize in the paragraphs below. I got to check out my buddy and MVP Player, Eric Cook’s musical project, Vaguely Symbolic at The Daily Grind Friday evening. I had a killer time sitting in with a new church band out in Midland and played, perhaps the longest continuous set of my life. Extremely fun! Streebo got the rough cut of Muticia’s Movie Morgue completed and last night I managed to complete all the background After Effects work for the episode. You know, lasers, rat explosions and taking Muticia and her pals off of the green screen and setting them in a drafty gothic castle. There are a few of those touches left for some title bits and the final edits to the AZ video that plays within the show, but getting very close on all that work indeed. Good stuff too! It’s looking great! This week has been a bit crazy but the weekend is in sight when Todd, Morgan and I take the first steps of creating the villain of, “Take That.” I hope to have photos and more to report on that front next week. ParaNorman opens Friday and you know MVP will be there to cover what looks to be an amazing Stop Motion treat! Afterwards, I’ll share my impressions of the film. Have a great...
