Seeing all the Jaws props at Mad Monster Party reminded me of other beach related movies. What better than to highlight Blood Beach. Another link to Jaws is the tag line for Blood Beach, “Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water – you can’t get to it.” Let’s watch the trailer:
As you can tell from the trailer, this movie was shot in high definition. Or maybe not. The film stars non other than Burt Young from the Rocky movies, Marianna Hill (played Fredo’s wife in Godfather II and was in 78 other titles from 1960-1988), John Saxon (who has been in over 170 titles including Enter the Dragon, A Nightmare on Elm Street and FromDusk til Dawn), Stefan Gierasch (Carrie, High Plains Drifter, The Hustler) and many more. Blood Beach was written and directed by Jeffrey Bloom.
Blood Beach – Burt Young and John Saxon
As you can probably guess from the long trailer, Blood Beach is about a beach where people are going missing or getting mutilated. At first they believe it may be a serial killer but then figure out something is in the sand. I’m not sure this film is actually a classic but maybe more of a cult classic.
