Bad Milo (2013) and Take That (2013) double feature this Thursday at BAFS!

Come join the Mutantville Players for a night of fun in the cinema as the Back Alley Film Series and the Charlotte Crownpoint Cinemas present a double feature of Bad Milo and Take That on October 10th at 7:30pm. MVP in conjunction with the Charlotte Film Society is bringing you a night of fun and blood with two of the craziest flicks you’ll see this Halloween season.

Take That
is a short film that tells the tale of a wounded veteran, a nagging wife, a thankless job and his encounters with the undead. Take That was filmed by S. Brent Bowers in co-operation with Image Impact Group and premiered earlier this year at the Nevermore Film Festival in Durham. It has since gone on to play at the Mad Monster Party Film Festival in Charlotte and this BAFS screening marks the final time you will be able to see short film as originally intended. Take That will be presented as part of the second volume of Tales from Mutantville in the coming year.

Bad Milo has been the darling of the festival circuit and will be presented by BAFS as part of it’s limited theatrical run. For more information, see the official synopsis below.

Duncan’s (Ken Marino) life is a real pain in the ass. Tormented by a manipulative, crooked boss (Patrick Warburton), a nagging mother (Mary Kay Place) with a boyfriend 1/3 her age, a deadbeat new age dad (Stephen Root), and a sweet, yet pressuring, wife (Gillian Jacobs), his mounting stress starts to trigger an insufferable gastrointestinal reaction. Out of ideas and at the end of his rope, Duncan seeks the help of a hypnotherapist (Peter Stormare), who helps him discover the root of his unusual stomach pain: a pint-sized demon living in his intestine that, triggered by excessive anxiety, forces its way out and slaughters the people who have angered him. Out of fear that his intestinal gremlin may target its wrath on the wrong person, Duncan attempts to befriend it, naming it Milo and indulging it to keep its seemingly insatiable appetite at bay.

Come join MVP and BAFS for a night of Halloween horror with Take That and Bad Milo. We will be on hand with DVDs and door prizes so don’t be late. The show starts at 7:30pm and admission is only $10. For more information, visit the official Back Alley Film Series website.
