Ab-Normal Beauty, also known as, Sei mong se jun was released in 2004 and was written by Oxide Pang Chun and Thomas Pang. It was directed by Oxide Pang Chun. You may remember the Pang brothers from the post I did on The Eye. For me one of the things that I liked the best about this movie was the way it was shot. I liked the compositions and the lighting. They had some crazy Suspiria-esque lighting at times. There are some cool angles as well. Credit for the cinematography goes to Decha Srimantra. He also shot The Eye!

More after the leap…

Ab-Normal Beauty is about a girl named Jiney (played by Race Wong) who is an art student. She is out with her camera and sees a car wreck. She takes some photos of a victim of the crash. She becomes obsessed with morbid photography. She photographs a butcher killing chickens and it goes down hill from there. Race Wong does a great job of giving off the creepy vibe. She gets an admirer that starts sending her creepy videos. The plot thickens from there and I don’t want to spoil it for you!
